Experience story

A lodge-arranged hike through the ancient spruce forest of Gang Village near Bome, finishing with a view of the Zhuxi Glacier from Pulong Temple. This is the Gangyun Spruce Forest, named by Chinese National Geography in 2005 as one of China's ten most beautiful forests, and the trail winds beneath some of the tallest old-growth spruce on the Tibetan Plateau. Glacier-fed streams, moss-draped trunks and snow peaks frame the walk. Ask the front desk of Songtsam Lodge Bome for arrangements at least one day in advance.
