Overview

About this stay

Songtsam Lodge Tacheng is elegantly designed to showcase the fine Chinese longing for rural life. Located on the bank of the Jinsha River, in a village inhabited by Tibetan and Naxi ethnic groups, the hotel is built on a barley field so that every window is hidden behind the landscape, and every landscape unfolds in the frame. Push open the window to see layer upon layer of rice paddies, staggered residential buildings and distant mountains. The humid and warm southwest monsoon from the Indian Ocean has given this land the climate of the south of the Tibetan region, and rich products in all four seasons have made it a land of fish and rice. The fertile valleys around the lodge are scattered with villages of different ethnic groups, Tibetan Buddhist monasteries such as the Dharma Cave, and the forests that shelter the endangered Yunnan golden monkey.
